Casey’s Movie Mania is a movie site dedicated to publishing Hollywood, Asian, and international movie reviews and covering feature articles.
Since its inception in March 2010, Casey’s Movie Mania has undergone several makeovers, notably its review format. Selected news updates, which used to be prominently featured on this site, are now posted on the Casey’s Movie Mania Facebook page.
Meet the Team
CASEY CHONG | Founder / Editor
Watching movies has always been a major part of my life since I was a kid. I started writing movie reviews as a hobby in 1996 and slowly gained experience through self-learning and job exposure in the copywriting trade. I finally found my calling in 2010 when I decided to create this blog site and share my passion for movie fans around the world. I’m a big fan of Hollywood and Hong Kong action movies, especially those in the ‘80s and the ‘90s which I still think it’s the best two eras for the genre. Besides that, I also studied different movie genres from the silent and talkie black-and-white era to the last golden age of Hollywood cinema in the ‘70s. I’m also a fan of some of the best movie directors ever lived including Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, William Friedkin, John Woo, Ringo Lam, Wong Kar-Wai and Christopher Nolan.
Previously, I traded the profession in printing, graphic design, copywriting and social media from various companies. Currently, I am a full-time movie blogger who frequently attends press screenings organised by various movie distributors and works as a freelance writer as well. I have also contributed reviews and feature articles/listicles for Fiction Horizon, TVOvermind, The Cinemaholic, Flickering Myth and Talking Films.
